Our Story
In 2010, five women from a neighboring DAR chapter envisioned a new chapter with evening meetings for women whose schedules made daytime gatherings difficult. Their vision became the Suwanee Creek Chapter, NSDAR, organized with 13 members and chartered on October 8, 2011.

The Suwanee Creek Chapter, NSDAR, takes its name from Suwanee Creek, which flows southwest of downtown Suwanee, Georgia, before joining the Chattahoochee River. The name reflects our connection to the local places, family stories, and history that shape our community.

Since its founding, the Suwanee Creek Chapter, NSDAR, has grown through service, friendship, and a shared love of history. Our members support students, veterans, and military families; participate in patriotic observances; encourage family history research; and help preserve local records, cemeteries, and stories.

Guided by the spirit of our founding members, we continue to honor the past, serve our communities, and preserve history for future generations.
Chapter Meetings
The Suwanee Creek Chapter, NSDAR, generally meets on the second Monday evening of each month from September through May at Suwanee First United Methodist Church in Suwanee, Georgia. Meetings typically begin with a program followed by chapter business. Our community awards program and annual holiday celebration may follow a different schedule or be held elsewhere.

Guests are welcome. Attending a meeting is a wonderful way to meet our members, ask questions, and learn more about chapter life. Whether you are beginning to explore DAR membership or researching a family connection to the American Revolution, we would be delighted to welcome you.
