What We Do

Our members put DAR’s mission into action through historic preservation, education, patriotism, genealogy, and service. Close to home, that means preserving records and cemeteries; supporting students, veterans, and military families; promoting literacy and civic learning; assisting with family history research; collecting needed supplies for schools and community partners; and participating in patriotic observances, parades, and festivals.

These activities give us opportunities to learn from one another, build friendships, and connect the stories of our families and communities with the broader history of our country. Some projects bring us together in the community, while others allow members to contribute their time and talents from home.

Visitors and prospective members are welcome to meet us at a chapter meeting or community event. Explore photographs of our members at work below, then visit Our Mission to learn more about the principles that guide our chapter.
