A Partnership for Preservation
In October 2023, the Suwanee Creek Chapter, NSDAR, formed a partnership with the New Prospect United Methodist Church family cemetery board to support the preservation and documentation of the cemetery.
Cleaning and Documenting the Cemetery
On March 16, 2024, chapter Daughters cleaned headstones and photographed grave markers throughout the cemetery. Find a Grave memorials were updated with new photographs and Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinates, making the burial information more useful to families and researchers.
Honoring Veterans
Each April and October, chapter Daughters replace the U.S. Flags at veterans’ graves as an ongoing act of remembrance. These Flags help ensure that the service of those buried in the cemetery remains visible to families and visitors.
